Profile
Chris Bird-Jones is an artist and educator working primarily in glass. Karen Heald is a visual artist and researcher whose praxis is in the medium of video, installation and performance. Collectively they are known as Bird-Jones & Heald and are based in Wales, UK. In 2005 Bird-Jones & Heald began their collaborative practice after identifying inspirational qualities and similar expression in each other's work. Independently Heald was developing projections of her film works onto objects and Bird-Jones was experimenting with moving image for the first time. Their collaborative process is conceptually driven through research, often in response to specific sites, culminating in a diverse vital practice.
